Principal's Message

Hello,
Welcome to ShadowGlen!  It is such a pleasure to serve as the principal of ShadowGlen Elementary! This is the second year SGE has been opened.  It is a great school with amazing teachers, awesome students, committed parents and a supportive community.  At SGE our focus as a campus is on Professional Learning Communities, Project Based Learning and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports.  At our school we focus on the whole child while having high academic standards.  At SGE every adult is responsible for the success of every child.
This is my 20th year in education.  I have had the honor of being a teacher at Widen Elementary.  I then became an assistant principal at Crockett High School.  From Crockett I went to Lake Travis High School.  While at LTHS, the opportunity to return to the elementary world came available and I became the principal at Lake Travis Elementary.  I served there for 5 years.  While at LTE our school was named the National Title I Distinguished SchooI  for Closing the Achievement Gap in Texas.  Such an honor.   From LTE I went to Plainview, TX to work at the central office level.  There I served as the Executive Director for School Improvement and Professional growth.  I was there for two years but wanted to return to the campus level and return to central Texas to be closer to my family.  That is when I decided to join the Manor family.
I am a mother of a beautiful daughter.  Chelsea is 25 years old and is an agricultural science teacher.  She is currently working on her master's degree so that she too can be a school administrator!  I have a new puppy named Lulu Belle, she is a long haired miniature dachshund!
I am currently working on my PhD.  I am writing my dissertation and hope to be done by May!  My area of study is School Improvement with and emphasis in Social Justice.
I am proud to serve the Manor community.  We have a great thing going here!   There is unlimited potential in our schools!  I am not only proud to serve the community, but I am also very proud to be a BOBCAT!
Go Cats!
