Manor ISD Innovation Fair

First Annual Manor Innovation Fair

A showcase of innovative practices and student projects

December 16, 2017

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Lagos Elementary

All Elementary, Middle and High School students and teachers as well as parents and community partners are invited to participate.

Nominate a student to showcase an outstanding project!

Nominate a teacher to be recognized for extraordinary practices!

STUDENTS can show off their learning in 4 ways:

  • Exhibit Hall: projects will be displayed for participants to view.  Students are invited to talk about their work.
  • Breakout Sessions: students will facilitate 20-minute presentations for small groups. Students, or teams of students, will present the outcome of a project or share a learning experience.
  • Shark Tank: Is your student an aspiring entrepreneur? Participants will make business presentations to a panel of "shark" investors, who then choose whether or not to “invest.” Winners will be announced that day!
  • Performances: The Fine Arts department will be organizing student performances throughout the day.

TEACHERS AND STAFF are invited to facilitate breakout sessions on the innovative practices occurring at their schools either individually or in teams. Presenters will have up to 50 minutes for a "deep dive" session to share innovative practices and projects, provide information to the community regarding services or initiatives, conduct focus groups or panels, etc.

The event will also include:

Keynote Speaker

Tours of innovative learning spaces

College & Career Exploration Fair

Celebrations of accomplishments

Design competition

Food truck operated by MHS Culinary Arts program

Post-secondary demonstrations, recruiting, etc.
