Leslie Snyder » About

I am the AIM Teacher and the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at ShadowGlen Elementary.  I also serve the district as a Project Based Learning Trainer, and a Campus Communication Representative.
After earning a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I changed career paths to answer the call of teaching.  This decision has served me well, allowing me to ignite curiosity and a love of reading in my students.
Over the years I have been a 1st Grade Teacher and a Reading Interventionist alongside the top-notch educators of Manor ISD.  I have also had the opportunity to serve as a Reading Specialist at a private international school in Mumbai, India.  This adventure expanded my horizons and introduced me to people and parts of the world I had never imagined.  Upon returning to the United States, I was delighted to learn that Manor ISD was opening a Project Based Learning elementary school called ShadowGlen, and it has turned out to be a perfect fit.

Outside of teaching, I am a new homeowner and mom to an 8-year-old French Bulldog.  My downtime is spent doing yardwork, yoga, walking with my dog, and cooking.  I have recently taken an interest in hand-lettering, calligraphy, and the doodling method of Zentangle.
It has been a cherished privilege to be part of the inaugural year of ShadowGlen Elementary, and an honor to serve our students daily.  I look forward to many more years of teaching, learning, and memories that only a close-knit school family like ours can create with our students.
